Whole Body Vibration Technology

Modern Whole Body Vibration Technology evolved from decades of use by astronauts, athletes and medical facilities. Specific vibration machines known as Pivotal platforms have been used to provide balance training, muscle rehabilitation, muscle development and massage.  These vital functions have made Pivotal WBV machines an important training tool that is used by Olympic Athletes, Professional Sports Teams, University Research Departments, Medical/Research Facilities, and Developmental Disease Centers(MS, Fibromyalgia, Parkinson’s).

How Vibration Works?

Vibration is energy generated by rapid motion that gets transferred through the path of least resistance. When a person stands straight on a vibration platform , the vibrations would travel all the way up their bodies. As soon as they interrupted the vibration path with resistance ( say bending their knees), the vibrations will only travel to the areas supporting that resistance, in this case only the quadriceps, hamstrings, and calves. A vibration workout is simply holding your body in different positions as to isolate the path that the vibration is traveling.  For instance hold different positions like squats, push ups, dips, lunges, body planks to exercise core muscle groups.   Alternatively, lay arms, legs and torso on the platform and the vibration is no longer engaging the muscles but rather massaging them.

Types of Vibration

Not all vibration is the same nor does it feel the same. The diagram above animates the difference between the two vibration types currently available. The man on the left is standing on a pivotal platform ( NitroFit). Notice how his hips move up and down almost like he is walking in place.  You can see his lower back and abdominals being exercised just from standing on the platform. Try a pivotal platform and the motions should feel comfortable, engaging and natural.

Now look at the man on the right and notice how his whole body is rapidly being shot up and down. This motion can be effective for exercise and stretching yet it is often described by users as uncomfortable and jarring. Try a Lineal platform and you will most likely feel intense vibrations that travel quickly all the way up to your head.

Take The Challenge

We encourage you to try both types of platforms and feel the difference.
We are confident that you will choose NitroFit.

Research

medvibe_logoNitroFit products are produced by Medvibe LLC, a company that is dedicated to furthering the research and development of whole body vibration technology. We are one of few companies that have tested their products at various nationally acclaimed Universities. We have supplied equipment to various rehabilitation centers, chirpractic offices and research facilities in efforts to discover new ways to ease pain and strengthen bodies.

We are currently the preferred WBV supplier for Arizona State University Health and Wellness Department. Additionally we have supplied The University of Arizona, California State University, Fullerton, and Elon University with our NitroFit Deluxe model. Tests on bone density increases, and advanced athletic performance are underway.
